Blue Jay Birdhouse is for Chickadees and other small birds.

Unique hand carved wood birdhouse is hand painted to look just like a blue jay! Excellent rendition does not scare off birds, but instead welcomes them to this safe, and cozy, "out-of-the-way" home. A birdhouse that's a real conversation piece! 1.25" entrance is perfect for wrens, chickadees and other small birds. Birdhouse has a trap door with 2 screws on the belly for easy yearly clean-out, and a heavy hemp rope for hanging. Belly (nest area) measures approx. 5" in diameter, approx. 13" in length.

Please Note: The manufacturer does suggest a thin coat of polyurethane if houses are to be kept in severe weather. This will help to further preserve the paint, while immensely helping birds during frigid and wet weather. Birdhouses will offer them protection from predators and places to roost.
