Heated birdbaths fulfill a critical need for wild birds. In winter, when temperatures drop below freezing, shallow pools of water and most ponds tend to freeze over, leaving birds no way to get fresh water.  This is critical for them, not only for drinking, but bathing too. Birds need to keep feathers clean at all times for optimal flight conditions. Dirty feathers just don't fly right!

Deck-mount birdbaths are great for close up views, while ground birdbaths offer a more natural way for birds to bathe and wade. Both styles are available in heated models and may be used year-round as well. Providing a consistent fresh water source is an excellent way to attract more wild birds!

Already have a birdbath in place that you like and birds use? No problem, some of the newer birdbath heaters and de-icers are safe for all types of bird baths.

And don't forget, please provide as much food and shelter as possible, it really helps feathered friends to thrive during tough winter months when natural sources have been depleted and are not available.
