A 12-room martin mansion built to be the centerpiece of your yard.
The Sloped Classic Estate is a full-size Purple Martin house for anyone who wants a colony and a landscape feature in one. It stands 52" tall and 18" wide, with a sloped copper roof and a balanced, symmetrical design that looks at home in the garden even before the martins arrive.
Built to last
Handcrafted in the USA from cellular expanded PVC board, which has the authentic look of real wood, and topped with a premium copper roof. It is guaranteed to never rot, peel, crack, split, develop mildew, or fade. Faux accent entries are added for the symmetrical look.
Choose your copper
-
Bright copper: a shiny finish that holds for approximately 3 to 4 years.
-
Patina copper: an aged look created with an acid wash and heat process, and it stays that way indefinitely.
Prefer a more immediate weathered look on the bright copper? The lacquer can be omitted.
Easy seasonal clean-out
Removable interior panels and a lift-off roof give you full access for seasonal cleaning.

Setting it up for martins
Purple Martins are particular about location, and the site matters more than the house. They want the center of the largest open space you have, ideally at least 40 feet (60 is better) from any tree or building, with a clear flight path in. Mount the house high on a sturdy post, within about 100 feet of human activity, which helps deter predators. Water nearby is a plus, and a predator baffle is recommended.
FAQs
Does the house come with a post?
No. A 6x6 wood post is required for stable installation and is not included.
Is the vinyl sleeve included?
No. The 6x6 vinyl post sleeve is an optional add-on that gives the post a seamless, carefree finish. You can add it to your order.
What comes with the house?
The house itself, a vinyl mounting collar, and decorative brackets for a 6x6 post.
How many Purple Martins will it hold?
It has 12 compartments with 2-1/8" entries, the traditional round entrance size for Purple Martins.
What’s the difference between bright copper and patina?
Bright copper starts shiny and holds that look for approximately 3 to 4 years. Patina has an aged finish from an acid wash and heat process, and it stays that way indefinitely. Bright copper can also be ordered without lacquer if you want it to weather sooner.
What is it made of?
Cellular expanded PVC board with the look of real wood, plus a copper roof. It is guaranteed to never rot, peel, crack, split, develop mildew, or fade.
How do I clean it?
The roof lifts off and the interior panels remove, so you can clean out each compartment seasonally.
How big and how heavy is it?
18" wide x 52" tall, 50 lbs.
Where should I put it?
In the middle of the largest open space you have, at least 40 feet from trees and buildings, with room for martins to swoop in. See “Setting it up for martins” above.
Can I guarantee Purple Martins will move in?
No house can. Martins choose a site first, so location matters more than the house itself. Set it up in a high, open area with a clear flight path, and have it up before the first martins are due in your area. PMCA’s scout-arrival map can help you estimate when that is. Keep the entrances closed until martins arrive so sparrows and starlings don’t claim it first. Keep the house clean, and don’t give up if you’re late: younger martins arrive weeks after the first adults, and nesting can start as late as June.
Is it made in the USA?
Yes, handcrafted in the USA.
