Felted Wool Gingerbread Chalet

Give birds a holiday roost with their own Gingerbread Chalet!

Hand made with sustainable materials by Fair Trade artisans in Nepal, sheep's wool, hemp and bamboo are used to create these vibrant wool bird houses.

Wool naturally repels water- so the house dries quickly after rains-doesn't get saturated. Whimsical and decorative for holiday and beyond, offering the perfect nest site in spring for feathered friends. 1.25-inch entry accommodates chickadees, warblers, nuthatches, and other small cavity nesting birds.

Fabric yarns may even be plucked by birds to build their nest inside, or carried off to construct their digs elsewhere in trees or shrubs. Complete with clean-out door on bottom, and hanging cord with perch.

Wool birdhouses are designed for year-round outdoor use, and will maintain their structure for several nesting seasons. Color may begin to fade if left in direct sunlight for extended periods, sheltered areas are best... for the birds too. Ships stuffed with newspaper to maintain shape, you can check the news form Kathmandu!
