    Wooden Barn Swallow Nest Cups

I bought two of these nest cups after seeing them at Bitter Lakes in Roswell,NM. Within about 3-4 days of putting them up, I had Barnswallows! I had been told that I might need to be patient because it might take awhile, but that sure wasn't the case at my house. I think that was about 4 or 5 years ago. Every year since them I have had Barnswallows, raising two broods each summer, in it. The second brood last summer had 5 babies and I don't know where in the world they all slept! My nest cup is in my courtyard, which is enclosed by the house on three sides. Last year two pair were fighting over the nest and I couldn't believe how hard they all fought over that cup! I really enjoy watching these little guys and am sooo glad I got the nest cups from the Birdhouse Chick.great products, great service and wonderful encouragement!

    Ceramic Barn Swallow Nest Cups

We attended a lecture on attracting barn and cliff swallows, presented by a bird specialist conducting a study of both species. These cups are the closest we could find to the ones she hand makes for her own research. We are hoping to be successful in encouraging them to nest here. The cups are well constructed, shipping was fast, and we even received some free nesting material and helpful suggestions for enticing swallows. Thank you!
